Join us for a celebration of Relay For Life

The Cancer Society is thrilled to announce that Relay For Life Central Otago 2020 has been rescheduled for Saturday 7th November at Anderson Park, Cromwell. We have chosen the best bits of this inspiring event and brought them together to create a 6 hour celebration of Relay For Life. Join us for an afternoon of entertainment, fun and community as we come together to Celebrate Remember and Fight Back against cancer.

Our celebration of Relay For life will open with the traditional Survivors and Carers lap of honour followed by an afternoon tea to acknowledge and celebrate individuals and their wider family/whānau who are, or have been, affected by cancer.

Teams can then walk or run laps of Anderson Park together and enjoy the awesome entertainment and activities on offer.

Finally, we will come together as a community for our traditional Candlelight Ceremony. This is the time when we take a moment to Celebrate living with and beyond cancer, Remember those who are no longer with us, and make a commitment to Fight Back against cancer.

What is Relay For Life?

Relay For Life is an inspirational and super fun event for everyone of all fitness levels, during which we celebrate with survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer and come together as a community to fight back against cancer.  Teams take turns walking/running around a track while enjoying a festival-like atmosphere of live music, entertainment and activities, all with a fantastic community spirit.

Cancer Society Otago & Southland Division

Your donation supports the work of the Cancer Society here in Otago and Southland. The aim of the Cancer Society is to reduce the risk of cancer through health promotion, provide free support services and information for people and their families affected by cancer, and fund cancer research.

One in three New Zealanders will be affected by cancer in their lifetime. Your support ensures that we can reduce the risk of cancer by building healthy communities and by being there when people need us, so that no one goes through cancer alone.
